Funny how some just don't wanna go after you. I've had a couple of those when I was young and had my Camaro. I've had a few that was ready to rumble. lol
Yeah way back in the early 90’s I had a lowered Acura Integra with an exhauat and I got pulled over and ticketed all the time.

These days I get pulled over ever year or two and nearly always get let go with a warning.

In fact exactly that happened on my last trip to CA, I posted about it

Been there, done that. When I was in high school I topped 85 coming off a hill toward home out in Hays County. Looked in my rearview and saw a DPS Mustang that hadn't been there when I was topping the hill. The trooper pulled into the oncoming lane, paced me, looked over and grinned as he pointed at me and mouthed "Got you", then downshifted, floored it, pulled in front of me and left me standing still. I drove 55 the rest of the way home.
    Remember 55 saves lives.

And raises revenue for every small town speed trap shit hole you drive thru.

The drop-off fees in that direction will be exorbitant !

For the minivan we rented locally, Enterprise had good rates. But their one-way Suburban rental rate to Dallas was exorbitant. It was about a $1k premium.

But Avis didn’t charge me a premium for the one-way to Dallas. I think it’s because I’ve got a corporate rate/code thru my company.

    Lucky you.

I hear that U-Haul trucks SFO to Dallas are about 2.5X the rate of the other way around.

    No radar.

I am very cognizant of small towns and I drop to 5 over when I see the signs.
And I’ll stick with 5 over until I’m a few miles out of town.

On the highway I try to stay 10-15 over the limit.
So if the limit is 75 I’m gonna do 90 as traffic and conditions allow.

And in Mew Mexico i stuck with 10 over, they’ve got a lot of troopers on the highway, even in the middle of the night. If I get passed, then I’ll up my speed a bit.

Within a few miles of crossing into NM, and it was really late, maybe 1 or 2 am, I blew by a trooper at 90 on the median…I shit a brick but he didn’t pursue.
You realize you just confessed to breaking the law, yes?
Your tickets will be in the mail. :clown:

    What a journey you had!
Thanks for sharing the pics & glad you're home safe. :)

You guys will get a kick out of this…the airbnb we stayed at in San Diego.

Location location location…but damn, a million bucks. Maybe renovated 50+ years ago, still has knob and tube wiring.

Hillcrest, very gay area so there’s quite a bit of renovations along with a lot of original-looking eclectic craftsman homes.

Reasonably safe, great restaurants and the zoo was a 5 minute drive. But venture too far and just a few blocks makes all the difference and it’s straight hood.

I had a tiny condo about a half-mile from here, bought from my wealthy aunt who converted a small apartment complex into condos.

I lost it (and another place in the high desert) in 2009 when my renters became squatters with free legal representation from “renters advocates”.

Never own rentals where laws are skewed toward shitbag tenants.

    Some good news:
Warranty company is covering the repair, a new transmission from GM has been ordered.

I’m on the hook for $200 deductible, plus getting the damned thing home from Riverside, CA.

I was confident it would be covered, but it’s nice to get the official word.

I have 6 months and 6k miles of coverage left.
I think towing the boat hastened it’s demise, and it may not have failed until after my warranty expired had I not towed it to CA. .

Getting maintenance done per the owners manual, and at a Chevy dealership so I have a paper trail, paid dividends, methinks, as the process was easy peasy.

Too funny, that looked familiar...I had friend that lived, I think, on Wightman (white-man) just North of the park. I used to tease him about his Hillcrest slippers...
