bullet desisign and materials have gotten dood enough that there isn't as big the difference between a 45acp and a 9mm!Admittedly, if I were to go insane again and buy a Glock , G30sf would be it.

Still like a 45 better.bullet desisign and materials have gotten dood enough that there isn't as big the difference between a 45acp and a 9mm!
a 45 will never shrink down!Still like a 45 better.
Was this from the 9mm is overrated thread? From one of the latest caliber threads... View attachment 404190
Seems that its not just y'all that are shooting .45's more accurately - the data set from the article this is taken from says that .45's are more accurate as well.
My own experience is anecdotal - but in Sig P22x family of pistols, the P220 .45 shoots the best for me. I shoot a Glock 21 about the same as a Glock 17.
The M&P 45 compact shot better to me than the M&P 9 compact.
I still carry a 9mm though. Follow up shots are faster, ammo is way cheaper. If someone else was buying my ammo - like an employer or sponsor - I'd not mind a .45. A 200 grain Cor Bon "flying ashtray" really makes for a bad day for whatever / whoever is hit by them.

I skimmed it but didn't see it, thanks. All those numbers seem very high, but maybe they're excluding missed shots, and only counting torso/head shots vs arm/leg shots...
it might seem more accurate but the reality is that the holes are bigger so they appear closer together. So I switched to 9mm for defensive purposes in 2020 for more capacity. Have been training with it regularly for the past 5 or 6 mos
I picked up 3 new pistols in 45 yesterday and took them into the range.
Fired about 150 rounds of 9mm through my church gun with and without the red dot. Got it all sighted in and was grouping maybe 6" at 10y. Minute of Man.
Threw some grease on the rails of my new g30sf, g21, and FNX.
First time shooting 45 in maybe 3 years. No optics, just good old fashioned irons. G30sf was marginally better. G21 surprisingly wasn't as good as the G30sf. FNX DA pull was like 2 feet off lol but I put most of them in a single ragged hole. By the 2nd mag on each gun I was shooing way better than 9mm.
Anyone else? I can't figure out the reasoning in my head.

in short shoot more

Only due to inherent qualities of the pistol, like having a nice SAO trigger, and a long sight radius, etc
the odd thing is, I shoot the tiny G30sf better than a full-size P320 9mmOnly due to inherent qualities of the pistol, like having a nice SAO trigger, and a long sight radius, etc
I've been a SIG guy my whole life. Got a g43 years ago from a member here in a trade, and traded it away. Also got a G17 from another member for a couple bucks, that's my garage gun (it's secured).Admittedly, if I were to go insane again and buy a Glock , G30sf would be it.

The G30SF and G21 are the first glorks that I went out and actually chose to buy.
Iirc, the most mechanically accurate glock was (back in the gen 3/4 days) the glock 26
