The criteria for locking are occasionally spelled out in various places, e.g. the admonishment to lock threads after a classified ad is done. Mostly, though, it's a pretty squishy situation. It's one manifestation of the notion that the mods are trusted to cut off a thread that needs to stop.
That's the reason I took note of the fact that Renegade had some valid points. It's almost always a judgement call in a situation not directly discussed in the written rules and, thus, it will be subject to differences of opinion.
The goal is to have over 100.
We are going to have to step up our game. To keep a thread like this going without going off the rails will be challenging.
