It is illegal for a felon to possess a firearm.

So a blue polymer gun would be OK. I would not handle a real gun made "inoperable".
Just curious in regards to felons: Do guns manufactured before 1888 (I cannot remember the exact year), Still count as firearms in regards to a felon? I’m sure that manufacture date is slightly off.

1898 and no, not a firearm

The term “firearm” means (A) any weapon (including a starter gun) which will or is designed to or may readily be converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive; (B) the frame or receiver of any such weapon; (C) any firearm muffler or firearm silencer; or (D) any destructive device. Such term does not include an antique firearm.

Would a non-functioning "prop" gun be illegal for a felon to handle?

Danny Trejo is a convicted (and impressively reformed) felon, and he handles blank-firing firearms in most of his movies in some capacity or another. There's some kind of carve-out in play there, otherwise he'd have a very difficult time being an action star. It might be the simple fact that most movie guns are modified so they'll only fire blanks.

I suppose it depends on the state. Black powder guns aren't firearms but, iirc, Texas prohibits their possession by felons.

If I were a felon, I wouldn't pick up a Nerf gun. For felons, this issue justifies rampant paranoia.

You bring up another question to my wandering mind, if he’s convicted in New Mexico and does a film in Tennessee would he be subjected to the felony rules of New Mexico or Tn (let’s pretend they’re different)?

Let’s say they want to do a film in some Third World shit hole that doesn’t have any “felony “restrictions would he still be subject to the terms from New Mexico while he’s in that country?

I would not think that a prop gun would be illegal for them to handle.

Definitely a question for a lawyer if they can even be around “access to” real firearms in the setting of what you would have with a movie set

That countries laws apply and most won't allow felons from other countries unless you can pay them enough.

It is a Federal offense, so the Federal Law applies in all states/possessions. State laws may vary.

Whether or not his US conviction counts in a foreign country is up to that foreign country.

US citizens convicted in foreign countries do not count in the US for purposes of gun prohibition.

Mark Wahlberg is a convicted felon. Most of his action movies have him handling non-firearm replicas powered by propane. I imagine DJ is in the same boat....

Never forget Sean Penn is a pussy who gave up his guns for some old cooter

    What a beta.

I’m a pretty easy going guy. But for whatever reason I’ve had the urge to beat the crap out of that guy.

I’ve wanted to do that 4-5 times in my entire life. It’s been very rare. But I’m pretty sure he is in desperate need of an ass kicking.

Why did you post a 27min. video which you only watched 3 minutes?
I thought some people are invested in this shitshow. Isn't this the spot for " Breaking News" on Rust shooting? It's just a diversion, anywho.

There is no TGT requirement to watch the videos, just like I post a ton of stuff in good gun deals- I don't buy any of those, either.
