Even though I don't like needless killing of wildlife it's crazy this ever went to court. I've killed a few rabbits for meat and don't like where this is headed.

Nicholas Coyle, a Salve Regina University Lacrosse player, has been arrested in Newport on charges of animal cruelty after he allegedly killed a rabbit with a hockey stick and used the body as a puck.

two things people don't like.... killing animals and abusing kids. I remember when the baseball player hit the bird with a baseball, they wanted his head

Okay, Matefrio, I understand killing rabbits for meat and even sport is acceptable, but then using it's body as a hockey puck, which it obviously isn't good for, seems a bit out there. I'd get that guy tested for mental problems lol.

Have any objections to folks who kill prairie dogs for sport?

I know i'm stepping in it here, but I'll bite. Its not something I see myself doing for fun. But this guy using a dead animal for a hockey puck is way out there for anyone. Who knows. Maybe im the person with questionable values. I dont hunt, so I guess I've never been desensitized to that sort of thing. But even if that were true, hitting a dead buck with a hockey stick still seems questionable.
I am not in the know about prairie dogs. I couldnt tell you if they tear up the land like say hogs do. Hogs have given farmers a reason to warrant their extermination. I havent heard of prairie dogs doing such things. Not saying they dont. But to go shoot a living animal just for the I can do it factor, I'd prob pass.

    The guy has problems.
If you want to kill a rabbit with a hockey stick, I could care less. It's why you killed that bothers me.
Prarie dogs are nusiance animals that cost landowners owners many broken legs on livestock. Yes they are as damaging as feral hogs.
Besides, a good clean kill with a varmint bullet is humane. Playing with dead animal carcasses is a bubble off.

I'm not debating it's wrong buy why is it in the courts? Besides judging an act by how humane the kill is is another slippery slope. That kill by hocky stick could have been clean and humane. Plenty of animals where the bullet wasn't true injured till they starve.

Rhode Island? Lacrosse? Just a couple of guesses. Yep, I've been to RI. Pretty country, odd folks. I don't recall seeing any rabbits to tell the truth.

I think he is a sick MF!! and glad as hell he is in court over it. It's one thing to kill for food or even sport, people with that sort of mind set need to be on the receiving end of those acts. Sort of the same thing for kids? that try to run over cats and dogs on purpose. They have sick minds and will probably never get better and then we have to deal with them down the road.

Guys, seriously! Are you all so full of youselves to remember the stupid weird shit you pulled as kids?

The first of you to deny being a completley lopsided twisted **** as a kid is the most likley serial killer of the bunch.

Kids are going to do stupid shit, I am not condoning his actions in the least, and he should be punished and made an example of. However, to destroy this kids life with a felony rap, and prison ink before his life even starts is INSANE!

I could see it if he committed murder, rape, or other major stuff, but he didn't... He smashed a rodent. I know many guys who have literally thousands of dollars invested in AR's with NV with the sole purpose of sniping 'yotes or hogs or just about anything else that moves around at night and no intent of taking those animals for food, but I guess 'yotes and hogs ain't all fluffy and cute like bunnies are they?

Lets hope the prosecution and jury use alittle disgression before swinging around the felony hammer.

If it comes out in the news next week that this kid discovered the cure for cancer while being grounded to his room while awaiting trial, those of you gungho to condemn this kid would feel like complete assholes...

Is how most serial killers get started.
I guess my neighbor is a future serial killer then. He's around 12 I think and has killed quite a few animals on my street. Found a nest of birds and squeezed the hatchlings to death. Then drove a stick threw a frogs mouth while it was still alive. Makes this kid that killed that rabbit look like a amateur.

Wanna see a real "bubble off"? Go rent a movie called Freddie Got Fingered starring Tom Green, there is a scene in that movie where Tom Green pulls over to the side of the road where a dead and rotting deer was laying, he gutted it, and wore it while prancing around like he was the deer, and he was paid millions for it. To the best of my knowledge, that scene wasn't scripted, it was improvised. Whats worse is Tom Green was in his late twenties, early thirties when he pulled that stunt, among other equally gruesome crap.

Another example the more aged among us will remember, remember when Ozzy Osbourne bit the head off of a live bat? Again, paid and applauded for it, not imprisoned and slammed with felony charges.

But both Tom Green and Ozzy Osbourne are celebrities arent they? This kid is a nobody, so he should be sent to the rack.

    Rant over.
