I won a hunt for some Aoudad in September but I'm afraid I don't have anything capable of taking one down.
In your opinion what is the smallest acceptable caliber for being able to effectively take one of these seriously tough critters.

I cull our aoudad with a 223. Head shot and used for meat. They make great pan sausage.
True they are about the size of a mulie but they are a bit tougher, with that said they are not bullet proof so any “deer” rife, or magnum pistol should do the trick.

Just make your next build a 458 Socom upper for your AR and can use a 300 to 500 gr. bullet. That ought to do it.

Biggest I have is a Mosin and Saiga 7.62.
With both I'm concerned about accuracy out to 200-250 yards.
I figured that some of my 180 SP would be sufficient as long as I can get on target, just don't know if I can.
Guess a range trip is in order.

You definitely want them sighted in "before" the hunt, lol.....
My Dad always brought along our .270 in case some of the men he took out did not have an accurate gun.

I'd say from 243 on up. 223 may work for head shots but never know with a double lung. Get that moisen scoped.

tap talked from a phone yeah im on my phone! it's crazy!

Well, I do have a 1:7 Sig556 that is scoped and ready to go but I'd rather not take any chances with the smaller round on that particular game.

I took an aoudad last year with .308... I felt like it was maybe too much (if there is such a thing). I would have no problem using .223 on one the next time.
