I have always hated political subjects and refused to discuss anything to do with politicians, issues and the law making process. TGT is absolutely responsible for changing of my ways. I see now, that I can still detest the process but participate in the discussion of issues, make informed decisions and vote the thieving bastards out of office! I recognize that people like me who don't give a shxt about politics are the the root cause of our government running out of control and our participation is the ONLY way to get it back on track.

On the last day of early voting, I took my sample ballot to the polling place. I had completely researched the candidates and their positions prior to the vote, met some of the candidates over the previous weeks and quizzed them on their Second Amendment views. I cast my vote for people who respect me and my way of living. TGT and our political "intercourse" is totally responsible for that change in me. I never did any of that crap before and although I didn't especially like doing it, knew that it had to be done.

I am a changed man.

Our TGT political threads damn sure did some good but anything worth having is bound to cause SOME pain! Freedom is NOT free.

Well said and that is exactly what I am talking about. When people have their eyes opened to the situation and realize that their lack of participation is a part of how we got in such bad shape, and get informed and participate, things can improve.
Frankly I don't care what your view is, if you are getting informed and participating, you are welcome to be 100% opposite of me and I would give you a ride to the polls because it is about participation.

If it does come back, rules need to be established on combativeness, name-calling, and all the decisiveness that it generates. As Navy said, this is a critical time and a critical election regardless of who wins and loses, the effects of this election will be long lasting. Open discussion of the issues may actually be beneficial.

But please, whatever you decide, remember not to let facts get in the way of your opinion.

It surprises me that on a forum that discusses the 2nd amendment, we would chose not to to have the right to discuss politics, which was one of the main reasons for the first amendmnt freedoms we have.
