Yep, and if he does...this is only the beginning.

He absolutely will get re-elected. The Republican party is too divided for Republican voters to get out and actually get Romney elected.

Actually I'm still bitter that Romney even won the primary. I think he's a pretty shitty "lesser of two evils" choice.

I fear you may be right but ever hopeful that you're wrong.

Romney wasn't one of my top choices either and only comes out ahead of Obama by a nose in my book. With choices like these it certainly makes the future look bleak.

I'm scared to say that I think you're right. I didn't believe it until today. The stakes for this next election are higher than they ever have been. People are going to lose their jobs(as I did) because of this decision or business are just going to have to do away with employee health insurance. I am really curious to see what the next 2 weeks holds for the employment market. It really sucks I'm having to job search in the middle of this.

I did my best to try and educate people on Romney vs others during the primary. I think he's gonna lose.

I'm not going to name call, but I will say - unqualified - that those who voted for Romney in the primary screwed over any chance of positive change. Good intentions or not, it was the wrong decision. Thanks.

Ultimately, the only chance we have of fixing things is now the next round of Congressional elections.

I've had time to collect my thoughts.

There are three branches of Government each with a check and balance. SCOTUS just ruled that congress has the power to tax(nothing new here). That power includes creating a tax as a penalty for not buying something.

Most importantly from here on out congress and our leaders cannot sell us a mandate saying it's not a tax.

Now, if we don't like this tax, the ball is in the people of the US to support and elect those in congress that would repeal that tax.

I think this is a good thing by kicking it back to the people to decide.

As I stated above. Reporting sucked on this decision with most media outlets saying it was struck down at first. Here's a screenshot.

With all the news agencies wanting the first scoop on the healthcare law there were a few mistakes. This is an early report from CNN. I know cable news networks were a bit premature in reporting and errored.

Another notable mistake that rocked the news agencies was from the live SCOTUS blog. Amy Howe: The court reinforces that individuals can simply refuse to pay the tax and not comply with the mandate.

It should have been: The court reinforces that individuals can not simply refuse to pay the tax and not comply with the mandate.

Obama: "Today the Supreme Court also upheld the principle People who can afford health insurance should take the responsibility to buy health insurance"

What Arrogance, they did no such thing.

That's a pretty good assessment. Basically, Obama just imposed a huge new tax on the middle class.

Supreme Court upholds the healthcare law, and Chief Justice Roberts said. "The federal government does not have the power to order people to buy health insurance," he wrote in the majority opinion. "The federal government does have the power to impose a tax on those without health insurance."

In my entire life I've never observed a more contradictory ruling from the Supreme Court, nor a bigger betrayal of the Constitution by the highest court in the land.

At this point I am officially declaring the beginning of the end of the United States as we all knew it. To date we've been perfectly paralleling the fall of the Roman Empire, and now with this ruling the end is certain. You can choose to believe that or not, but from this point forward my life will be planned around that belief. The only solace I have is that I lived through some of the best years (socially, materialistically) that this country ever had, and I also know I will die and be buried in an already chosen foreign land more free than the United States of America.

Heller vs. DC had some equally impressive doublespeak. To paraphrase: "The second ammendment is an individual right, but it can also be restricted and regulated."

Where would that be? Somalia? Seriously, gun rights suck everywhere else that I know of - that I wouldn't mind living in anyway.

I've got friends that are all excited about this crap. I could just hang my head and cry when I see blissful ignorance prancing around over something so detrimental. We do need a change in how our healthcare system works, but forcing people to purchase it or have the IRS knock on your door if your don't, is not the way to do it. I heard one of my "friends" say "More great change is coming!"
