Greetings

My name is Rick and I'm an alco.....no wait....wrong forum. I'm from San Marcos and found this site through Bump..who goes by HobieDog or something...I think he's trying to sound like a rap star.

I grew up in South Texas and guns have always been a big part of my life...from deer hunting, to turkey, dove and quail....even some of the bigger exotics like Nilgai....just about anything. I carried an M-16 in Nam so don't care much about para-military stuff but I love a fine rifle or shotgun with a high quality wooden stock.

I've got a safe full of long guns and pistols but don't shoot near as much as I used to. Mostly because there just isn't a handy range nearby. I get out to the deer lease as often as I can and do a lot of plinking and hog hunting between deer seasons.

I've been involved in our local Ducks Unlimited Chapter here for 28 years and surprisingly...most of my guns I've won in the raffles. Half the stuff I own has DU stamped on it. Some say I'm very lucky...but if you buy $300 of raffle tickets and attend 3 or 4 events a year....the odds are pretty good...but truthfully I've just about broke even...but it goes to a good cause.

My friend Al joined but he is in the Sugar Land area. I believe you and him are the only Houston members currently, as most of us are in Austin or San Antonio.

Gunnut1 aka Gary here. I live in the Fort Worth Area and have been around these old gun boards for a long while. I love black rifles with the FAL and AK as my Favorites. I recently got into the 9mm SMG clone club. Love it! I have a Sw5 and a Calico Liberty 1. Love both of them. I also have a Sterling MK7 pistol.

Looking forward to meeting y'all sometime time. Maybe we need to have a outing!

Most of you guys don't know this, but this fella "gunnut1" has no clue how to headspace a FAL.




I'm Jerry, aka Owlcreekok. You can usually find me wherever the Admin lets us act like complete idiots. For reference, look in FalFiles Dumping Brass. Lol

I like FNFALs, 1911's, M1 Garands, 03-A3's, K31's and other, lesser guns.

I have a token AR, but I do not tell anyone so.

I do not like Poofters, Starbucks, Liberals or people who can't headspace a FAL.

I like fishing in the Gulf for Sharks and Bull Reds. I like both kinds of music. Rock AND Roll. Well, maybe three, Blues is really da stuff too.

I am not a gunsmith, but I graduated from the WECSOG (have the diploma to prove it)

I make my own ammo, and cast bullets too.

I like FAL's, you certainly get alot of gun for the money, they are about 8' long
