I've been cracking up at some of the descriptions of firearms found on various sites, including TGT.
I've seen plenty of "rare finishes" - greens, browns, etc... Does anyone actually fall for this? You can refinish a firearm in just about any color imaginable these days - some from the comfort of your own home.
I've seen a couple of "rare" 10/22's, 870 and 1100 shotguns, etc... listed lately.
I mean - come on... how "rare" can it be? Especially one of the above. If it's a DU custom engraved piece with gold and silver inlays, etc... I can see that - OK.... it's one of a few like it in the world probably. But the everyday looking 10/22's, 870's, 1100's, etc... are not "rare". They may come with a different length barrel or some custom wood, but I can order a different barrel or custom stock for most of these weapons. Does that make it "rare" or a one of a kind? No.... just something I modified.
And then there are the "pre-ban" posts. What??? Huh??? There is no "ban" in affect that I know of right now, so that would make EVERYTHING pre-ban... right? Unless they are talking about pre-no-longer-in-effect-Clinton-Administration-ban. Am I missing something here, because if I am, I'm very sorry - please enlighten me. I had not heard of any recent passed bans of any firearms lately, so the "pre-ban" moniker just cracks me up.
OK... I'm off the soapbox. Whew! I feel better!
All the best,
Glenn
