Not me - there's no legal standing to demand a BOS on a private sale, period.
I think it would be easier to pass open carry than to get the BoS idea to wither and die.

True - unfortunately, we have our share of idiots on this site even that think's it's a "good idea". I've passed on even makin' an offer on more'n one gun here because of that stupidity!!
Wow, so I am an idiot because I asked for a bill of Sale when selling a pistol. Thanks for the information.

More so the mentality that people think the bill of sale will "save you" or makes the sale official.

I'm curious as to why this is the only forum that suggests a BOS is worthless. Is it just a Texas thing?

No, but we found out that apparently TGT has the image of being the ONLY forum to talk down on BOS as a stance of the forum, lol.
I can believe it. We do it every time someone mentions a private sale.
Only if they demand a BOS.....<G>
i sold a pistol not long on there. checked ID's, both of us confirmed we are not criminals, and are legally able to purchase, own and transport a firearm lol and went on our way....well he calls me 2 days later, demanding a bill of sale? saying he does not want to get pulled over and get arrested? I kindly tell him, it is not stolen, i purchased it ftf from a LEO(which I did) and that even a bill of sale will mean nothing since I am not the original owner, and there is no firearm registration. he asked for me to email his a faxed copy of a BOS. i said ok send me your info and i will, but with none of my living info, just my ID number and name. he never sent me his email.....
