I figure many of us got this ad in our email today:

    HK45ad_zpsdfd1391b.jpg

I seem to remember these things being *much* more expensive in the distant past. Also, somewhere around the house I have an article on how to convert these things to be cosmetically identical to the UMP. I am a huge fan of the UMP.

So, before I start another crazy project, is this a good deal? Or is there a "gotcha" lurking in this ad?

TIA for the benefit of your experiences.

Deal and HK just doesn't seems to fit together lol

For the superior product you get with an HK, they're all a great deal.

...and yeah benenglish, that's not a bad deal at all. There are also people out there who can convert this to an "UMP" for you if you really want to have it done. The UMP conversions usually sell for $2,500-$3,300 -ish.

Weren't there some issues with the USC? I'd do some research before I jumped on that. Some of the civilian HK's have not gone out of their way to justify their price tag.

It is a little high, but they are hard to find.

Mine was $1100 a few years ago.

USC -> UMP is a fun conversion, but these days it is expensive. At the end of the day it is still a 45 ACP.

That price is par for the course. You see em' on gunbroker for around the same price pretty often. I thought about getting one a while back but ended up with a Steyr AUG instead.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I have a real love for the UMP so the prospect of buying one of these and swapping parts to create a civilianized version appeals to me.

However, it probably doesn't appeal enough for me to actually make the purchase...especially with the SIG MPX on the horizon. ;)

If you get an MPX, I will need to shoot it. Not want, but need.
