Im 28 years old. In my lifetime I dont ever remeber there being "the good times" and it never will be.
As much as I would like to believe that things can get better, I think that ultimately it boils down to there being two more-or-less easily definable groups: those who are reliant on government, and those who pay for it.
Sad thing is, and IMNSHO, the "right" of 'everyman' to vote, no matter their contribution to society, therefore enabling the ability to divide by those seeking to further political power/agendas, and to then pander to those divisions for political gain, was the very first, albeit subtle, nail in the coffin of our Republic.
very trueA conservative works for a better life, a liberal just votes for it.
You are the same age as my youngest daughter.
The only thing the both of you are lacking is the age based perspective that makes you keenly aware of just how much things have changed.
AND, that can be a good thing.
No more despair, my young friend. You got a chance at a beautiful life ahead. When I was your age I was staring down the barrel of an AK47 and things have turned out. Pay no attention to the man behind curtain, take the bull by the horns, make the best of every situation, and endeavor to make your personal world exactly what you want to be.
(/old man rant)
Go for it ....
Good times depend on perspective, the only things that really change are the names, the date, and technology involved. Use the technology as does your opponent. Yes there are deffinite problems, but looking back, I have had and expect more good times.
Evil only wins when the good do nothing,,,,,, or give up and quit.
If You fight for what you want, You may lose, You FAIL only when You give up.
Never was good with "or else", I don't intend to go quietly into the night

good stuff.Things and times change, What matters is what inside you. Ive seen rich people miserable and poor folks happy. Good times are what you make of them . and i agree you fight for what you want, whatever the odds . Never give up. my 02 cents
I only wish it was so easy. Ask someone who lived thru the depression or the dust bowl, or a POW in Hanoi Hilton Inn the killing fields of any war...all of these I have direct knowledge of, those were dark days in many ways...Good times depend on perspective, the only things that really change are the names, the date, and technology involved. No you fail when you lose the battle, no matter how hard your fought, ask the Japs, Germans, Sony BetaMax, Blackberry, Microsoft, Oldsmobile, Nash, Hudson, Packard and the list is a jillion miles long of those who fought hard only to lose, most never gave up, they just die often leaving a long death rattle like the USSR.
But as you said it depends upon your perspective: Obama is a FAILURE, but then many see it different. Sometimes winning is very difficult to ascertain. John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and a building full of Congress folks...
