Any thoughts, experiences, horror stories, miracles ...

I usually pay as I go, but heard a presentation yesterday that made give it a second thought.

I have been talking to DoubleAction about the same thing, There are afew out there geared specially for CHL holders. I think I know which one you saw at Shiloh yesterday as I have seen a few of their brochures around the range.... Curious to every one elses experiences.

I guess it's kind of like insurance; you pay a monthly premium with the hope that you won't really need it. I haven't heard anything negative about them, but not many recommendations either. We have at least one member of the forum that's an attorney.

I've been using Prepaid Legal Services for years. I haven't had to use them for a deadly force event, but I've gotten legal advice, referrals, and collection letters. They've handled traffic ticket issues.

The complaints I hear most often are that they keep charging after you cancel, or they don't cover certain things. Anytime you have an auto-payment on your account, this is a potential problem. Mistakes are made, but it's your responsibility to watch your account. Regarding what they cover, it's spelled out very plainly when you join. They don't cover divorces, custody issues, bankruptcy, DWIs and a few other things.

Many of the lawyers they use are referrals, so if you're unhappy with the referring attorney, call PPL and they'll find another one for you. They are VERY customer service oriented.

The legal advice is really cool. If you have a legal question, you call them. An attorney fluent in the area of the law in which you're interested will call you back within an hour or so. He'll talk with you as long as you need.

I've got teenage drivers, so I wouldn't be without it.

im a pre-paid legal associate. adn i have used their services to get a nice fat setltlement when i got hit by a car, (remeber that thread? iw as on foot lol)
my ammo closet has never looked better.
but they are an amazing company. and the new identity theft program is very nice.
actualyl ive had a chance to test htat out personally as well. a place i went to highschool had computers illegally sold on craigslist and ebay, and they had all my credit bureus on alert aloing with my bank accounts the whole nine yards. actually stopped three attempts for identity theft before they became an issue.
id be screwed right now without them.
kudos to the people at PPL.

if anybody needs any more information or wants to get involved go to their website, or pm me and i can get you an application. ;)

We joined up Sunday during our CHL class at Shiloh. They covered alot of things my wife and I have been talking about for years, including wills and living trusts. I like that the will is a free part of the service and that you can change it/add to it for free once a year.

Which one did you sign up with, or is this just one company. I've seen a couple different ones and my wife and I also are interested, especially if they cover various issues as well as CHL areas

We would not let Scott and Randy sell their services if we did not like, trust and believe them. They came highly recommended from Cheryl at Hot Wells and her word is good as gold for me. If anyone would like to contact them, just PM me. On another note, GMChief and Cortez were in our class and NO ONE said hi? WTF?

We didn't see you there, Jeff. Saw Ngoc and said hi... And Ngoc, if you read this thread, my wife agrees about the young Tom Cruise comment...she says to let it slide even if you feel a little "homo" about it

But from what I see is when you google "prepaid legal services" almost everything that pops up is "prepaid legal services scam" So I stayed away. I'm not saying they're terrible I'm just saying this is what I was talking about in that other thread. [/URL]

As far as the online reviews, I am a firm believer in not believing everything you read online. As hard as you try, there is always one jerk-off that thinks he has the credentials to offer his or her opinion for whatever BS reason he or she concocted. Better than an online review, talk to those who use the program that you can trust. One thing that separates these guys from others is they actually restore your identity if you happen to have your identity stolen. Whatever area of help you may need, these guys will cover you nationwide and even 5 provinces in Canada. We've personally used this program and it actually works! DoubleactionCHL can vouch for their services on a personal basis as well.
