You have options between two identical boots - steel box toe, lace up. The designs are identicle and only the leather looks diffetent. One is made by Ariat, and the other by Justin. The Justin boot has a little extra padding and is about $20 cheaper.
Would you go with Justin or Ariat?

Oh wow, good to know.Take it from someone who is really hard on workboots, and usually goes through a couple pair a year. The Ariat are softer than the Justins after a day or 2, and will actually outlast Redwings. But you definitely need to try both boots on before buying. Ariat has an issue with both boots fitting the same.
That lack of padding could help in the summer heat. Both made in China? The extra padding wins if you'll be standing in them all day long.
Ive had the exact opposite experience as TxStetson. Ive worn the same model/size of Justin workboots for 15 years . It really has more to do with how they fit you. For me, Justin are hands down the longest lasting and better fitting boot. We get 2 pair of boots a year, whatever brand, style, etc and cost doesnt matter. I still get the justins. Ive never had a pair of ariats I could stand to wear and ive tried 5 or 6 pair. Heck, my first pair of boots were ariats back about 1996!You have options between two identical boots - steel box toe, lace up. The designs are identicle and only the leather looks diffetent. One other thing to mention, I hate box toe boots! Never found a pair that fit worth a darn. Again, personal preference.
A good coat of boot oil will make break in much easier and will help them last much longer. I can get about 6 months max without oil and the leather is worn out on the toe. With it, i can usually get about 8 or 9 months before the tread is too far gone.
Whatever you go with, make sure its their upper line (justin j-max for example) and stay away from the cheaper stuff.
