I am mad at the LaPierre and Cox, I really think they should be replaced. I am a member of NRA and know that we still need the NRA, no other organization for firearms has the clout the NRA does. My problem with the NRA is not standing their ground, if they continue bending we will all break.
When those two and Hammer are gone for good, I'll re-up my membership. Until then, other 2A organizations that are actually holding the line will get my support.

Sounds like a golden opportunity for the NRA to quell the negative wave of criticism it's gotten lately for throwing gun owners under the bus concerning bump stocks.

Honestly, I can't stand either. The NRA once did great things, but now are too concerned with their own self-serving interests than representing gun owners and defending the Second Amendment, which was their charter.

Yeti has always produced overpriced stuff that can easily be found at a fraction of the price.

So for me it's a no-win situation, but I am still very suspicious that the NRA constructed this drama to get people back on their side (i.e. throw more money at them).

YETI reply to my email to them. Whether this helps or not, at least the perceived anti-gun/anti-2A narrative is being heard and those of us who are pro-gun and pro-2A are hearing it and we are responding and these businesses rightly or wrongly (not sure who is right or wrong in this case) should know we can choose to go elsewhere to spend our money and other vendors can fill the void for those products and items.

“We're writing in response to your recent email inquiry.

A few weeks ago, YETI notified the NRA Foundation, as well as a number of other organizations, that we were eliminating a group of outdated discounting programs. When we notified the NRA Foundation and the other organizations of this change, YETI explained that we were offering them an alternative customization program broadly available to consumers and organizations, including the NRA Foundation. These facts directly contradict the inaccurate statement the NRA-ILA distributed on April 20.

Further, the NRA-ILA stated in that same public communication that "[YETI has] declined to continue helping America's young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities." Nothing is further from the truth. YETI was founded more than 10 years ago with a passion for the outdoors, and over the course of our history we have actively and enthusiastically supported hunters, anglers and the broader outdoor community. We have been devoted to and will continue to directly support causes tied to our passion for the outdoors, including by working with many organizations that promote conservation and management of wildlife resources and habitat restoration. From our website to our film footage and from our social media posts to our ambassadors, YETI has always prominently featured hunters pursuing their passions. Moreover, YETI is unwavering in our belief in and commitment to the Constitution of the United States and its Second Amendment.

Thanks for reaching out to YETI.”

This is nothing but backwash trying to walk it back and have it both ways. So I am Mr YETI and I want to fix the problem, well this Huma Huma shuffle is not the way. Try this:

Hey Wayne, this Mr YETI, sorry I think you guys got it wrong, we are on your team, we are just redoing our wholesale structure for ALL that buy from us, not cutting you off at all. How about I fly out and we hammer out a Press Release and make a joint statement to clarify this and show my serious intent and we (YETI) will post this in a FULL page ad in all NRA magazines. Along with this: Next 30 days every NRA member that buys a YETI product thru the NRA will get 15% off and free shipping and to boot, YETI will match that 15% discount with a donation to the NRA Youth Gun and Education Program, meaning we will cut a check for 30% of all NRA YETI sales.

    How's that sound Wayne?

Their usual press release but quoted you as it is all the same and easier.

Let's really look at this statement. The whole thing describes their support of hunters and outdoorsmen. The only part that even mentions their support of the 2A is the last sentence and it seems like an afterthought.

Sorry YETI, hunters and outdoorsmen have nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment or what it stands for. You can support your customer base all you want (and I expect you to) but that isn't the same thing as supporting American gun owners as a whole.

I truly believe you meant to cut ties with the NRA but now regret that decision. Too little, too late.

YETI Flagship Store Bars Concealed and Open Carriers, Then Backtracks

"I was surprised to peruse the AustinGuns reddit and learn, via the inimitable Mike Cargill’s FB page (go follow him now!), that the local YETI Flagship store posted 30.06 and 30.07 signs outside their store in the city.

    Says Mike:

So I called and spoke with their attorney. He said he wasn’t going to debate or discuss the issue and licensed holders are not allowed in the building. I guess they aren’t as pro gun as they say they are.

This move isn’t exactly on-brand for YETI, so Mike raised a stink, and after some back-and-forth the company relented. They blamed the “no guns” policy on the attached bar, but the signs, which prohibit concealed and open carry and aren’t cheap, were also preventing carry inside the store."

they didn't really "relent"... They just came up with some lame excuse to explain it, and didn't change their behavior. Kinda like with the current fiasco.

Lone Star Gun Rights apologized for jumping the gun with Yeti.

If Yeti is telling the truth, then NRA is in the wrong.

    rman,

Given the HIGH likelihood that YETI is now trying to "get their tail out of the door & that they were STUPID enough to slam on it", that is the biggest IF in the State of TX

IF they want to STOP the drain on the company's bottom line, YETI will issue a public statement that ATTACKS the MORON LEFT for being Anti-2nd Amendment in CLEAR & CONVINCING TERMS.
(At this juncture, that's likely ALL that will convince most people, who support the 2nd Amendment.)

Btw, less than ONE THIRD of American adults support ANY new "gun control laws", despite the flood of lies from George Soros' (mostly well-paid) lackeys & the so-called "mainstream press".

    yours, satx

Won mine at a NRA event. I think (?) his brother and him had a falling out and brother started Ozark Trail brand, which is as good if not better than YETI and at about less than half the price.
The Yeti product is produced in the Philippines. They are having second thoughts. It's to late and there is an American made one thats a better deal.
