Nothing concrete, but some chatter has started.

But middle-class households earning between $30,000 and $150,000 would be asked to pay 1% on top of their tax liability today

Nothing but a ploy by the Democrats to sway public opinion against the war.

Remember income tax originally started as a temporary war time measure. Can't recall if it was WWI or WWII.

How about using bailout or stimulus money if it is needed. Some of that cash could actually be used for something worthwhile.

Won't happen......It would cover 99% of all politicians....;)

I see Charlie "I don't pay my taxes" Rangel is leading the charge......He owes over $50,000.00 in back taxes he failed to pay.....What an idiot!!

It is funny, we have bases in Germany, Italy, Eastern Europe, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, California (that is a foriegn country isn't it), and more aand no one is hollering about those costs. Germany is NOT a military partner, shut those bases down and use savings to fund the WARFIGHTERS.

Just when you thought they were done having their way with us via the Healthcare Screwing, they roll this out, and it appears intend to use the 40 Grit KY.

    Nice.

    Merry Christmas!

I can't wait to watch the election results in November of 2010!!!

This move simply illustrates the rampant hypocrisy among the Democrats and other "anti-war" zealots. Their reasons for opposing the war shifts as do the political winds. Originally, it was the immoral, illegal war. Then it was the WMDs... where are they? Then it was the "massive" civilian casualties and the loss of American soldiers; nevermind the fact that the casualty rate is the lowest of any sustained engagement in history.

Now, it's about money. Who cares about the soldiers and civilians who are dying, as long as we (the "poor" people who naturally oppose such an immoral action) don't have to pay for it!
