Finally!! I got my slides and thumb safety. Slides look pretty good. Sights are already mounted, and they look O.K., too. The slides fit the frames VERY tight. Gonna take a lot of elbow grease to make them fit right. Photos later. (much later)
Well, here are my homebuilt .45's. They went together fairly easily. Frames are Essex. All the other parts(except the grips) came from Sarco. One of them had a great trigger as it was put together. The trigger on the other one was from Hell. It is beginning to come into line, but is still not that great. One did not load the first round. The other has not missed a lick. A few more times to the range and a little more tinkering and they should both be running like fine watches. One of them is dead on at 25 yards. The other one shoots to the left. Got to move the sight. I did have a bit of trouble getting the pic. The cow kept swatting flies with her tail. I had to buy a different bullet seating die before I could get them to cycle. My old die was loading the bullet just a little crossways, and while my old Auto Ord. would load them fine, the new barrels would not.
