2018 Opening Day - Dove Hunts

Just moved from Aggieland down to Cibolo. Several dove lease fields with a mile a the house - been sounding like a war all morning...

I got 1 bird & it was a white wing. not going back today. Gonna rain by Tuesday = season'll be done.

Got 8 before they quit flying. I could have shot better...

Guys in the field in Cibolo tonight say they’re still flying and still plenty of birds. Hope they’re still there Monday.

Hmmmmm.....hadn't really thought about it, but I haven't heard the whitewings lately. ( Not that I really care too much.)

My brother and I have always limited out, but I wasn't prepared for this season , and my brother is fighting pneumonia. Haven't checked to see if his sons went or not.

Ya think? It usually only takes me about 4 boxes of shells to get my limit , (and I steal doves out of other guys game bags when they aren't looking.)

Didn't hunt today due to my daughters Bday party. Only heard a few shots this morning and none this evening.

Probably gonna miss most of the season but working toward a long term plan of getting my own land to hunt on.

Saw 1 dove this morning. Don't have a great sport but usually see 10-15 that I can miss at.

They seem scarce around this area. Hopefully the season picks up.

Looking good. It was kinda nice with temps being closer to 95 than 105.
