As for Ms. Gardner, funny coincidence - I was watching TV just a couple of nights ago and they were interviewing the owner of a bar in Madrid. That bar had been in the same place for more than a hundred years and it was known, back in the 1950s, as *the* hangout for bullfighters.

The interviewer asked the old man who was more attractive, Rita Hayworth or Ava Gardner, since both of them were known to frequent that bar in those days, a time when the interviewee would have been in his 20s and reasonably able to interpret what was going on in the bar. Without hesitation, the old man said Ava Gardner. He called her "sex on two legs" and talked about how she used to dance on the tables for the amusement of the matadors before she selected one for the night. Apparently, she was a total groupie when it came to bullfighters. The Wikipedia article on her mentions that she took one as a lover but the old man clearly implied that she sampled far, far more.

Sometimes it's nice to know that your (in this case, my) sexual fantasies have at least a little basis in reality. God knows, most of mine are complete fiction. :-)
