"The public needs to understand this was a very tough decision for me to make," Abbott told KLBK of his face mask mandate. "I made clear that I made this tough decision for one reason: It was our last best effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. If we do not slow the spread of COVID-19 ... the next step would have to be a lockdown."

I seriously wonder how he thinks another lockdown would go over? Also, didn’t he go to great lengths previously to not call it a lockdown?
Fucking power hungry whore. He’s painted himself into a corner with that statement. More testing will mean more positives, which means another lockdown.
That ship sailed long ago. The mask order sealed it.If he's not careful, that could mean political suicide for him come the next elections.
I'm seeing more data showing cases have gone up sharply and deaths have gone down to negligible numbers. This tells me that more people have the antibodies and will be asymptomatic and not get sick. The tests will show positive if you are ill and if you will never be sick. I'm leaning to a heard immunity and give it a few more months everyone will be statistically in the clear.
Politicians will always try to blow this out of proportion whether it is for power reasons or ignorance or "trying to do the good thing" to get reelected.
The horse is out of the barn on this one and masks and social distancing won't fix squat at this point.
I say let the people be free and decide if they want to put themselves in a situation that may put them in harms way with Rona or anything else for that matter. IF a person does get sick, that is the consequence of the decision they made.
There’s a good chance that he’s already pulled the trigger. If he's not careful, that could mean political suicide for him come the next elections.

I'm wondering what someone has on Abbott. I find this very odd.

Purely my thoughts, but if they are doing more testing, then it seems very possible, that there are going to be more positive cases, of those who have CV19, or those who have had it. From what I understand, many people are testing positive, but never show any symptoms, or very few symptoms.
Even of the death rates remain steady, with more positive cases, the death rate percentage will drop even further.

Maybe I should run in 2022.If any halfway competent candidate runs in the primary against Abbott, they have my vote right now. Maybe two votes. (If someone registers my dog.)
I'm not sure you measure up.Maybe I should run in 2022.
