Wow. That's a big ol' can of WTF. Maybe I am getting old, because in my world when you talk the talk, you better walk the walk. Is it safe to say you're cool with talking out of both sides of your mouth being not only "typical human" behavior but is also somehow acceptable?

Look I get it that we're used to politicians paying us plenty of lip service, but when they do they're most certainly fair game to be called to the mat for it. We are (allegedly) entrusting these elected officials with certain (allegedly) important responsibilities, after all. You giving the Bernster a pass because it's "typical human hypocrisy and isn't newsworthy" is rather curious.

The headline might as well be “Bernie Sanders payed the amount required to the IRS”.

He could have sent every dime he had. Woulda run the country for about 10 seconds. In other words, it would be pointless. We burn through 6.6 million every minute.

So he chose to send the required amount instead of sending extra which would have literally no effect while pushing for higher taxes on everyone (but campaigning on the “rich”).

Sorry, not worked up about that. It’s not news. Nobody sends extra to the IRS because they feel morally obligated and it would be stupid (pointless) to do so.

Has nothing to do with political lip service. It’s just the reality of the situation. I’ll leave you to one again be flabbergasted by my response. I’m gonna devote my limited emotional energy towards shit that matters, like little girls getting mutilated so that they will always be reminded of “their place” in life.

    This is not newsworthy.

I tried to watch a few minutes of it....but no one ever asked what specifically do you mean by comprehensive immigration reform?

What does that mean? What specific immigration changes are you supporting?

No one ever asked the tough questions and just let him repeat the old tired talking points....I understand folks have to be courteous, but that doesn't mean let him spin and dodge the answers....the audience would applause him clearing his throat.....waste of air time, imho....

He is just pandering to the no nothings. He's in it for another payoff. How about someone explain to this turd that we have to borrow money to pay for money we already borrowed.

Of course he paid what he owed and most do not want to pay anymore. With him running he would have an issue if he cheated the IRS. That said, it is hypocritical that he preaches socialism, got married in communist Russia but is a millionaire in capitalist America. Sure he sold some books but I would imagine he and his corrupt wife made most of it thru sweetheart deals, most of us will never see.
Not only that, but last I checked he has not explained how his Medicare for all is funded.
    F him.

You know this how? I am no Bernie fan, but I try not to make things up about him and others.

    Found this (https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...f2ec40cd81c_story.html?utm_term=.3d8955975dfd)

"He has become wealthier, in part, by cashing in on his status as a presidential candidate. In 2014, before his first presidential run, he reported an income with his wife of about $206,000, according to his tax returns.

"Since then, he has written two campaign-oriented books: “Our Revolution” in November 2016 and “Where We Go From Here” in November 2018. The impact of his book contracts is most evident in Sanders’s return for 2017, when he and his wife reported wages of $139,549 and business income — most of it from books — of $961,784.

"That squares with a financial disclosure report that Sanders filed last year as a senator and that showed he earned $880,000 in royalties from book deals."

Call him out on his hypocrisy maybe, but don't make things up. That is a leftist tactic.

Bernie Sanders is nothing more than a distraction at best. No one takes him seriously, and no one beleives he has a snowballs chance in hell to get the party nomination, much less get elected.

He could disappear today and no one would care.

He would have been running against Trump in the last election had the Dems not rigged their own primaries.

Today he is way to far to the right (yep, to the right) for the Dem Party to support him, but he is one of the highest polling candidates running on the Dem ticket. He will get ripped apart by the progressive left before they finish turning on each other.

I’m starting to think you might not understand what’s happening in the Dem party right now...

His wife has been investigated for shady dealings related to Burlington College, where she was president. She committed fraud to get a bank loan for the college.

Due to her wonderful leadership, the college was forced to close.

I would not expect his tax return to show all his income.

Might not be newsworthy to you, but is a legitimate question. Same as to Gore or Kerry when they're living in and owning multiple mansions, yahts, flying private, and telling the rest of us the world is going to end if we don't sit down, shut up, ditch our trucks and obey.

As long as Sanders wants all of us to pay well over half of our earnings to the government so we can become their slaves, the question of why he doesn't already is legitimate since there's a spot on the form to do just that. Same as why Al Gore doesn't live in a shack like the Unabomber. Fucking hypocrisy.

Unbelievable some don't get this and defend it on this forum.

Trump has been investigated also. Doesn't mean s#it. If she committed fraud, why isn't she in jail?

Same reason Hillary isn't. Need I say more? Or perhaps you think Hillary was innocent of mishandling classified information?
