The Academy in Tomball isn't even putting price stickers out for most of the ammo. I guess its a "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it" deal.

Monarch lacquer coated steel case 115 grain 9mm is $17.99 a box. Monarch brass case .223 is $12.99 a box. I haven't seen any top shelf stuff in a while, but I can only imagine that quality JHP 9mm is $1 a round or more. The 1000 round cases of 5.56mm they have are $750 each.
If the shelves stay full for a few days the prices will drop.

    Gunz are icky.
My local store continues to have .22lr of some type almost every day.
Seems they can't give away that Norma stuff in the 50rd boxes.
They've had a lot of that Winchester 100yr anniversary .22lr in the 300rd yellow box lately. At $36 per box I pass. If I'm going to pay that much it has to be CCI mini-mag. I even saw some of that Winchester 100yr stuff at Wal-Mart yesterday. It was just over$40.00 a box there. Passed.

    Gunz are icky.
Local store had a large amount of .22lr today.
Rem golden bullet, CCI of many types, Winchester, Norma, and even some Aquila in the 250rd cube boxes. Even a decent amount of 22mag.
Hadn’t seen that much variety in many moons.
Limit is still four boxes per person per day.
They also had some shotgun ammo but I didn’t see exactly what it was.
Some semi auto pistol calibers. No .38 or .357. A bit of .44mag.
Rifle ammo selection was poor. .223 and .308win plentiful but everything else continues to be missing.

Academy in New Caney had tons of .22, .223/5.56, 7.62X51, and shotgun shells, but not much of anything else. I did pickup 2 of their last 3 boxes of .270 (Hornady Outfitter 130 grain GMX). My Savage 110 loves the stuff.

    Gunz are icky.
    Stopped by Academy this morning.
Local store had quite a bit of ammo.
Tons of 223/5.56, 308, 22lr, most auto pistol calibers.
Most of the pistol stuff was large quantity boxes of Monarch steel case.
    Even had some 5.7, 44mag, and 45Colt.
Some other rifle calibers like 300BO, 300WM, and 350Legend.
    Didn't see any 30-30, 30-06, 243, or 270.

    I grabbed some 9mm and 22lr.

Academy near me had .357 mags. First time in 18 months I’ve seen them there. $49.99 for a box of 50 winchester white box. Also had one box of the Monarch 7.62x39 100ct Russian made at $34.99. I grabbed the 7.62 only because it looked so lonely sitting there by itself

Was just over at the local Academy.
Today they had a bunch of ammo.
    30-30, 243, 30-06, 22-250, 308, 7mm mag as well as the NATO stuff.
Plenty of the semi pistol calibers. No revolver ammo tho.
Quite a bit of .22LR and shotshells. They even had a few boxes of .410.

When I am out running around I try to stop by any Academy store I happen to be close to. I have three within 15-20 minutes from me. Sometimes it was a dry run, sometimes they had a crap ton of ammo.

Recently they have had so much ammo, it was around half of what they used to have on a daily basis. So when they had some reasonably priced pistol ammo I would buy some. 150 Browning packs, 50 training ammo box, occasionally a 200 rd box. Bought 22, 9, 40, 45, 380. Whatever I felt was the best deal. So a couple days ago I decided it looked like a lot, so I counted it. I have bought 2200 rounds of 9 over the last few months. Not much 380 or 40, but the 9! I probably paid 3x what it went for in 2019, but I have ammo to shoot, and doing it over the course of a year spread the cost out.

I think I am done buying 9 for a while.

edit - Also, Walmart has continued to have 22 mag in stock on a regular basis in the little milk cartons for around 22 cents per. Bought 2 more of those this week. When I grocery shop there (they have the big box of cereal I like) I always check the ammo counter.

If anyone shoots 350 Legend both Walmart and Academy both always have that stuff.
