That's the orphan Chevy. The 57 had vertical fins and the 59 had horizontal. I never liked it but glad it's coming back. That is a beautiful restoration and hope it brings you much joy.

If you get it, are you driving it back or trailering it? Not a lot of places open on a Sunday unless you're in a big town.

I'm South of Ft Worth, North of Hillsboro a few miles away from 35. If you decide to put together a list of who to call if you break down on the way home, PM me for my number. If you're close by, I might be able to help out.

Interestingly, the insurance for classic cars offers a LOT of coverage unheard of for regular vehicles, includin' emergency repairs, flatbed towing (guaranteed), even out of pocket hotel/food expenses - but I messaged you anyway - can't be TOO careful, and I DO appreciate the offer! Yeah - we'll be driving it back. Should be a fun trip!

Great ride, TXR! It's a beauty and not run of the mill.... very unique! Can we see the interior?

Also, welcome to the 10MPG club …… snicker!

So, you supposedly looked at it yesterday, what's the verdict?

Thanks to all the construction along 35, by the time we got there and to the bank, it was closed (literally 3 minutes too late). So, we'll meet Monday morning and complete the deal. It's not a perfect, concours-grade car by any means - but it's a nice one, and the engine sounds spot-on.

What a great looking ride. Feeling sad though as I just let mine go this week. It left Magnolia Monday and arrived today in snowy Duluth, MN. Had it for 19 years. Feeling happy for you!

Wow! Can't imagine the feelings as you watched the truck disappear down the highway.....hopefully, you'll find something else to fill the void!
