Distributor started allocating their Federal RTP (range target practice) 115 gr. 9mm this morning.....the only caliber allocated....watched 500+ cases of Remington 115 gr. 9mm go to zero in stock in 48 hrs from another distributor.....went ahead and ordered some of it while it was there.....When ordering more than I need, it just fuels the fire...but I got to have it for the range....

Hey, a run on ammo makes more sense than a run on TP

    avvidclif,

Believe it or not, the Bexar County Jail currently has FIVE married women as "guests of the county", who got in a serious public fight inside a local store.
(Two of the five had to be taken to the ER to be treated for "moderate to severe" wounds from the "knock-down, drag out" fight before being locked up.)

The 5 women were fighting over 2 packages of disposable diapers.

It seems to me that each day that passes that people get NUTTIER & have even less just plain old "horse sense"..

    yours, satx

Dammit, reload components won't be far behind.

    Whistler,

Fwiw, I suggest that you start casting your own bullets. = Cast bullet reloads are REALLY cheap & work quite well for target shooting, hunting & self-defense.
(For example a 310 grain .368 caliber cast bullet at 2000FPS will stop most any critter, short of a T-Rex.)

I currently/generally cast .308, .368 rifle & 9mm pistol bullets, as I've "winnowed down" my collection to 9.3x62 (cases made from .30-06), 5 different sorts of .30 caliber chamberings & lots of 9x19mm pistol ammo. = Other than that, I have a considerable amount of "other calibers" that I don't load for, as they are mostly collectables & no more than I shoot them, I have plenty of ammo for each caliber..

Note: 5.56NATO ammo is so cheap these days that I don't bother loading it.

Thanks, something to consider again. I used to cast but where I lived at the time finding lead was difficult and I gave up on it.

I do still reload but even that is starting to be a pain due to all the calibers I reload, how far I have to drive for powder & primers. Pistol calibers aren't as bad, I use a progressive but I use a single stage for rifle cals.

I haven't gotten rid of it, keep thinking I'll do it more when I retire in a few years. A friend wants me to go back to catering using his food trailer also though and that's very time consuming.

Where do you find scrap lead these days? Most wheel weights are zinc anymore, batteries are a lot of work.
