I have a Marlin 917VSF. Bought it years ago.
It is a ball to shoot. I put a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x scope on it (when it was a mid line scope from them) and a reduced weight trigger spring. I plan to bed the stock, but have never gotten around to doing that.
It took a while to find the ammunition it likes best (though the worst I found was still MOA at 100)
Used it to clean up a raccoon problem I was having at the lease, and also at the Farm many times. Killed a coyote and a couple of small pigs with it too.
I’ve never stretched it past 200, and can ring my 4” gong with it pretty easily on a low wind day.
I’d like to get it threaded one day, so I can screw on a can.
