    Dear sirs and madams,

Glocks are tools and nothing more. My weapons are tools and works of art. Put the correct tool into the job, my pappy used to say. The Glock may get the job done but it is like the ugly fat girl in middle high school that every lad would take a secret session from but would only be seen with a bird. Buy the bird!

    Thanks kindly,
    GUNNER51

How original. I don't think we've ever heard that one here before.

This week I'm getting a new part installed: completely ambi mag release for our 34. Also just got the kit to lighten the trigger pull done.

    I'm a lefty.

Do y'all think there is a benefit to getting an extended slide release next?

Will shoot a match next week to get me moving towards IDPA.

Open Carry Challenge at Area 59; introduction to practical shooting, designed for beginners, four stages.

Any recommended vendors for the part?

I'll probably also pay shipping plus slide (heh heh see what I did there) my gunsmith a few dollars to put it in unless my hubby will do it. But the lady (and her hubby) who runs my Girl and a Gun league also does Glock Armorer work so I see her twice a month so probably get it taken care of then easy.

You might find your gun failing to lock back after the last round due to your thumb accidentally resting on the slide stop.

Happened to me more than a few times after I swapped from stock to the tangodown vickers extended slide stop, but that can be fixed by adjusting your grip and trying to remember to keep your thumb away from the slide stop.

I have 7 Glocks and I put extended slide releases on everyone of them
I have never had the slide lock back prematurely on any of them

That's not what I said my "problem" was though, mine failed to lock back at all due to the thumb resting on the slide stop. It's still an easily remedied non problem, and it probably varies on what extended slide release you have as well and how much it protrudes.

Don't think this would happen to me as a lefty user.

(And thank you for the advise though. I'll probably get one).

That's what happens with me and 1911s being a lefty.
My thumbs end up pushing on the slide stop button on the right side causing jams.

Couple of our G19's...I love these guns.

Wifey has the fancy one. Ever since I got hers customized, she stopped questioning the guns I buy. Best purchase I've ever made in that regard LOL
