I like languages that make compounded words easy. In English we have those long strings of words with hyphens in between. The Germans (and the Finns, too, I believe) just smoosh everything together. I like that.
I’d say the Russians would have a little different view of that! (Along with the Canadians, British and the Free French forces).

I get my wine from California and my cheese from Wisconsin so I don't really care about France.
Besides the greatest contribution France ever made to society was the BJ.
Once read an interesting tale of the French way of thinking.
After WW2 many former German military men signed up with the French Foreign Legion.
The French got themselves into a mess in Indochina and sent the FFL in.
Those of you who were there know it is a very warm place.
During one road march an armoured unit of these ex-german Legionnaires came under attack by the Viet Minh.
The unit was ordered to abandon their vehicles and retreat.
One tank crew in particular fought like demons to retrieve their tank. They were successful.
They were given medals for doing so.
When the higher ups started to investigate why they fought so hard to rcover the tank it was discovered this particular tank had an air conditioner.
One of the german crewman was an engineer and had devised a working A/C and installed it in the tank.
So the crew was then punished for modifying government property.
That’s been paid back. Twice. If it wasn't for the French we all would have continued to be Subjects of the King.
I understand the sentiment but you might consider that France aided us in the American Revolution. The statue of Liberty is a gift from France as a gesture of good will. Further, the AR-15's direct gas impingement design was invented by a Frenchman - and is the system utilized by the MAS 44 "series" of carbines - the most common of which is the 49/55. I also believe that Dr. Louis Pasture was French - along with a bunch of other scientists like Marie Curry. So, France has done it's part...
Marie Curie was Polish.

As an adult I realize it was a gag, but there was actually an early-1960s edition of Compton's Encyclopedia that showed the flag of France as 100% white. The French flag is white with a blue and red border. That should tell you something.
Been watching some basic coverage. I find it pretty interesting given the protestors/rioters are made up of both sides of the political spectrum.
We talk a lot about people revolting over gun control, but these people are back to basics and took the TEA party to the extreme. The French president has an approval rating in the low 20s, and people are sick of footing the bill for globalism.
Video does a fair job of explaining the basic situation, crap that’s been going down, and why.
