The strangest s*** always seems to happen with the APD!
As for young cops not being "gun people", I concur. You see this from time to time at shooting ranges. A while back I was at a range and two rookie cops (we found out from the RO) were practicing a few slots down from me. It was scary to watch! They hit everything but the target. Standing next to me (with his granddaughter) was a retired cop who could actually shoot a heart pattern on a target. I said something about the rookies and the retired cop told several stories he'd heard from friends still active about the youngsters. Then he told me a story about an old friend of his that had bought a new pistol and then went to a diner to eat lunch. He pulled out the gun to show some other guys and for some reason looked down the barrel and pulled the trigger. So apparently "brain farts" are not limited to the young or the APD.
