This ^^^^I am all for teachers carrying at schools, concealed of course, from grade school to high school. They are teachers, so their main concern should be that, teaching. It should only be as it is for any LTC, defensive purposes. I don't think it's ever a good idea for anyone dressed as a civilian to run armed across campus, for then they could be mistaken for the shooter. If it's only 10 teachers in a good size school that carry, that would cover more area then a couple of security personnel.
There hasn't been problems on college and university campuses and there it's not just teachers that can carry, but also students, and I couldn't say how many students carry on my campus, because I can't even ask. So I ask, why should it be different for teachers in the lower schools, then it should for you or me anywhere else?
When did we allow 17 yr. olds to decide what we think?
If the qualifications for carry/carry in schools remain as they are, then I do not feel like those who are carrying are remotely qualified to provide security to students in high threat/extreme scenarios.
Like the 4 cowardly deputies who did nothing but hide? We need someone who cares about the kids carrying a weapon.I am probably in the minority, but I disagree with teachers being armed. If you want a security presence, you need to hire professional security personnel with the proper training and mentality. There are several other options available, and arming teachers would be very far down on my list.
I have a friend who owns an engineering firm that works with oil production companies doing deep sea drilling. When he is working in a high risk country, he refuses the body guards and demands a weapon and nondescript car and guards himself. He feels he has more motivation to do a good job.I don't want this to turn into a shitshow. Please don't read in to my posts any further than what I have written. I simply stated that I believe there are better options available than JUST arming teachers. To add-on, this is what I do for a living. I provide and advise on security for large corporations and government facilities overseas. I usually train on active shooter scenarios several times a month with people from multiple backgrounds. I have been doing this now for just over 10 years.
Yes, but these are 17yo hysterical liberals. Some times I would rather a 17 yo would make the laws compared to libtards
Who is to say that a teacher wouldn't be the hero? As I said earlier, I wouldn't recommend a teacher, with gun drawn, running across the campus towards an active shooter. If the police were to arrive they may be mistaken for the shooter. But if more teachers were carrying the possibility is there that could lessen the amount of lives lost, and some the thought that maybe it's not quite the target rich environment they were hoping for.Like the 4 cowardly deputies who did nothing but hide? We need someone who cares about the kids carrying a weapon.

Maybe he was able to keep the money that would have been paid for his security detail , and decided it was worth the risk.I would be curious to know what type of security he is being offered if that is the case. Clearly it isn't up to par.
It is with big multinational companies. They use local armed guards and distinctive vehicles. He feels being conspicuous makes you a target and guards can be bought off.I would be curious to know what type of security he is being offered if that is the case. Clearly it isn't up to par.
