I believe it is all speculation based on Rep. Gaetz’s letter which, it turns out, was talking about Q.
This is also my belief. But when I read "ruled" for the second time ...

A lot of this confusion is our fault. Qs marketing did not help them. Selling an identical configuration as a SBR was NOT smart. I can SBR any of my pistols then add a stock. I wish they had not flaunted their way to scrutiny.

Since I am posting again, my problem with SBR'g anything is this permission to leave the state crapsicle. So I run my pistols as intended every time they see a range and I don't have to hide'm at the border I I de ide to make a casino run while I'm out.

Is Q the only manufacturer that uses a brace on a rifle?
A brace on a rifle is fine. A brace on a pistol is fine. The Honey Badger is manufactured and sold as a pistol with a brace. The problems started when ATF decided that the Honey Badger brace was not a brace, but rather a stock. A stock apparently turns a pistol in to a rifle. Rifles can't have barrels shorter than 16" unless you pay a tax.

There are many companies that put a brace on pistols. I know of none that put a brace on a rifle, unless it is sold as a short barrel rifle. Wow, it is confusing.

There seems to be some sort of power play going on between some Obama era hold overs in the ATF and the DOJ. The DOJ has told the ATF they can't do stuff like this and the ATF says "Oh yeah? Watch this." It's another ploy to make Trump look bad to his 2A supporters and sway some votes.

Got any links? I never saw anything about the DOJ commenting on the ATFs flip flopping on the rules.

I'm going by what Guns and Gadgets says in this vid. Starts at 3:55. I can't find anything in writing. It may have been just verbal jousting between the two.

    Thanks Bozz10mm,

    It is confounding as well...

Just saying, would Q have avoided this had they used an actual “stock” on their rifle? Or at least marketed their entire line as “disabled shooter” friendly? Something along the line of “stabilizing braces on all our pistols and rifles so someone with one arm can still safely operate our firearms”.

Prolly wouldn’t have mattered if the ATF is going rogue like they appear to be, but it’s just a thought I had.

If I had a Q Honey Badger, I’d want to know if removing the brace would be an alternative to breaking it down and scattering the parts to avoid “constructive possession”. At least until the smoke clears and ATF is reversing their nonsense.

The Sig Rattler pistol has a similar design to the Honey Badger.

And I know there are others...I wonder if this ruling affects anything that doesn’t come from Q?

From what I’ve seen it’s just Q. ATF appears to be bullying. Bullies don’t go after an opponent they might have to fight. A larger company has more resources to lawyer up.
