They have given up and allowed too many libs, socialists and terrorists move in to the area. Been happening for years and years and will not change until the people that live there learn the hard way. Same with other major areas of Texas that have been overrun with liberals looking for all that free stuff the libs are promising.

So I guess cancer just goes away on it's own? It never goes on to affect other parts of the body until it eventually kills the person?

This liberal socialism infecting our major cities, is like a cancer. If it's not stopped it will continue to spread. That's why it has to be fought against at every step.

    Prove me wrong.

    Prove you wrong ?

So you think all of these Democrat, leftist and socialist leadership in all of these cities experiencing what is happening today, across this country just sprang up overnight?

It began like a small cancer and grew, and grew.

If you think I'm wrong in my opinions about this, then prove that I'm wrong.

Let going as it's going, and allowed to gain more foothold, it just gets harder to fight and to control. So letting it just run it's course in Austin, isn't going to make to problem get any better, much less just go away.

I'm open to suggestions on how a Harris County resident can help cure Austin's ills.

ETA: Short of moving to the Austin area!!!!!!!

Support our fellow Texans living there in any way we can, even if it's just moral support. If there are petitions, sign them. I'm open for any ideas to help my fellow Texans out in any way that I can.

If they have ideas, or if we can offer ideas to help them, I'm thinking that would be a good thing to do.

I have to travel a lot to Portland for work, and too many people tell me the only reason they don't move here is they won't give up the weed. I don't have an opinion on legalized marijuana; I don't have a horse in that race. But I'll always vote against it. Having no recreational marijuana shops is the closest thing we have to a wall. Maybe some of them will even move back.

Who has said that you are wrong ?

Maybe you? You're the one that seems to be for just letting them learn the hard way, or giving in and just letting the socialist have Austin, or any other city with a Democrat socialist leadership.

Personally, I ain't about giving them commie liberals one square inch without some sort of a fight.

REAL Texans are about fighting for what belongs to them, and what belongs to Texas. Real Texans ain't quitters.

OK, but they already have Austin. What have you done for Houston, San Antonio, Dallas ? They already have them too.

How about Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Detroit, NYC ? When are you going to do something about those commie liberal cities ? Chicago has been that way for about 50 years....what have you done about that ?

I use to to think that way too. But how many cities in the country have been turned in almost third world shitholes because of such thinking? How many more do we allow to become the same way because of leftist socialist thinking and allowing those that live there, to learn the hard way?

I have heard so many times over the years, well if you don't like the politics of the city, or state you live in, just move. Well, that's all fine and dandy for those who can afford such an option, of moving, and many do actually move. But what about those who don't have that option? But are sick and tired of the stupid politics that are disrupting their lives? I'm sure in Portland and Seattle and Wisconsin, there are residents that live there, that don't, and won't support this nonsense from their city leadership. Same with Austin. So what do they do? Should they just give up, and give in, or pick up and move to another city?
    Valid point.

I don't claim to have all the answers, or any answers for that matter, but just rolling over and giving up, or in to such nonsense, and to keep allowing it to continue on as if that's normal, just strikes me as being the wrong approach. IF letting people learn a lesson the hard way, were only about affecting those who make these poor choices in viewpoints and electing the leadership they have, then I'd say fine, and let the fun and games begin. But this is affecting many who are just innocent bystanders to the things going on. They are trapped between a rock and hard place right now.

I'm sorry, but just quitting, or giving up, or giving in without a fight goes against the ways I was brought up to believe, and to think. You keep fighting. You never give in. And you defend what's important. Last I remember, all of those cities, are still part of this country, just as Austin is still part of Texas. These are things that are still important to me. This country, and this state.

Great... so when you tell me what you are doing to "not give in" or "just keep fighting," I'd love to hear about it. Thanks....

Maybe encouraging people to vote. Maybe trying to educate people on the candidates and the issues at stake we are facing. Trying to change hearts and minds as much as possible. Seeking out the truth for people to see and to make an informed voting decision. Supporting candidates that can make a difference.

Excellent point. Many democrats are blue dog and don't even know why - they don't even know what thier party stands for. For example, many democrats profess to be Christians, but how can a Christan support legalized murder (labeled as abortion)

Exactly. Just look at Nancy Pelosi for an example of that. She claims to be a practicing Catholic, but from the Catholics I know personally, they would never condone, or advocate abortion, much less want funding for it, but that us exactly what Nancy keeps pushing for constantly, more funding for Planned Parenthood.

I don't usually go into a lot of detail about my views on abortion, since they are somewhat complicated, but for the most part, I'm a pro-life supporter.
