Yep - after figuring out the amount due to the state, I had to tack on another 55% for my county.

I took at 15% pay cut when I came here, and take home just about the same amount.

The more I look at this stuff the more it just about evens out. The house I left in michigan would cost me 3x as much here. General cost of living is more here. Gas is a little less and no state tax. Factor in the house and I was doing way better in michigan. Accept the downsize and it's a little cheaper here. In the end it's still pay check to paycheck

Every year we'd go hunting in the Flathead Valley which is right on the B.C. - Montana border in Canada and we always took a trip to Polebridge and C Falls for a few beers and to say "Howdy" to the barkeep there. It got so he knew we were coming every year and would stock up on our favorite beer. Love Montana!
