I looked up the movie. It’s a tanker ship and it runs up on a beach. And at the same time power is disrupted everywhere.

Based on such little commonality between events, we could say pretty much every disaster movie ever made is somehow connected.


Edit to add: Also, it’s based on a book published years before.

Things like this make the right look silly.

They have a history of bashing the US and it appears the changes they made when adapting the book to a movie primarily revolved around pushing racial issues to the forefront.

Certainly don't jump to conclusions, but don't close your mind to the possibilities. There does seem to be those that have a determination in destroying America as we know it.

Probably happened when the power failed and they were frantically attempting to regain control and stop the ship.

Plenty of channels out there explaining what happened when you reverse the engine and drop anchors leading to a course change.

That's why you haven't seen me post claims on what happened in this situation, but that doesn't mean I rule out possibilities to the contrary. I am interested in your space alien theory though, but I'm going to need a bit more evidence.

Having read Dune when I believe I was 12, I am interested in that movie myself. While I have my doubts there will be ties to this situation since I can't remember there being such a reference in the book, I haven't seen it yet to rule it out.

If you're insinuating that I believe this was anything more than an accident, then no, not as yet. But I have to admit that it is a blow to our infrastructure, and I do believe there are those whom would take delight in bringing down our infrastructure. So I keep an open mind to possibilities.

I never said that the move had anything to do with the container ship wreck.

So. a question I have for you two is.....if dropping the (I'm not a sailor so the terminology I'm using is all from a layman}
rear/back anchor makes the front of the ship go left towards the pylons, why didn't the captain drop the front
anchor to make the ship go between the pylons instead of to them?
