Virginia count doesn't have a fixed time element. This one is all about the fixed time.

I understand the fix time element. But why design a classifier that maybe only grandmasters with latest open gun can complete in the time frame? How is that serving the USPSA members?

    Because it's still possible to shoot D, C, B, A and M scores without being a GM.

Shooting 6 + 6 + 6 A shots is an A-class score, even "dropping" the second six shots on the first string entirely.

    Change that to 3 A + 3 C shots in each string and it's still a B-class score.

It's a difficult classifier, but when shot right it allows an A-class score for 18 well-placed shots with 1 second per shot if you never even attempt the reload + second six on the first string.

Look up the FAST Challenge. Two headshots, reload, four center-mass shots in under five seconds.
