    Geeze, what a mess.
Our two oaks out front are really messed up. Am afraid to walk out the front door or move a car out of the garage, what with extremely heavy branches suddenly snapping off.
Neighbor’s cars down the street got crushed last night.

Live oaks keep leaves so collect more ice. Our streets still covered with ice.

I had to turn around 3 times because of whole trees laid across the road. I bobbed, weaved, and ducked my way through the other streets. Only a few branches at my house. I consider it lucky after see the drive in.

Any idea how thick the ice is? Up here in the north it topped out around 1/2".
.64” is the max measured so far, but mostly around .5”.
we were without powerfor 15 hours yesterday.
about a half million customers in the metro area are without power today with 2/3 of those in Austin.

ERCOT has nothing to do with this.
The liberal City of Austin squandered hundreds of millions on the homeless bums, worthless bicycle projects, and ugly “art“, but very little on proper tree trimming and other critical infrastructure that could have prevented some of this damage and misery for hundreds of thousands of taxpaying citizens.
Yet the dumbasses in Austin will still vote for their favorite woke grifters.
Say what you will about Lubbock, but that place is run in a much more competent manner than our Capitol City.
