I'm not trying to start a debate more just wondering how many people have a round chambered when they carry. I've heard some people prefer not to have a round chambered. So I was curious how many people believe one way or the other.

I presume you are an incompetent idiot if you don't have a round chambered.

When a split second could mean the difference between being dead or alive and you are under extreme duress, having to rack the slide may mean you never get a shot off!

I do, however, leave my HD nightstand gun out without one in the chamber. I also have a 3 year old running around and that was the best compromise I could come up with to make sure he was safe. He has been taught not to touch it and isn't strong enough to rack the slide if he could even figure out how.

I carry unchambered. I use a Clip Draw with my G27 and it isn't safe to carry it without a proper holster.

I can't carry my gun with my tool belt on and it is a hassle to remove a standard holster. Clip the gun on and go. Take it off and throw it in the truck door during work.

    It works for me.

As the older gentleman once stated, " An unloaded gun ain't nuthin' but an expensive paperweight."

Take what you will out of that.

    Helotes!
The only way I wouldn't carry one in the chamber is if I could carry two in the chamber!

I agree with the statements about not have a round in the chamber being a bad idea. As I'm waiting for my license to come in so I thought I would take this time to ask the question. Having talked to more than a few people who carry without a chamber round. I wanted to see if there was a point of view I haven't considered.

    Thanks
