Chicken Fried Steak or Ham Steaks????

Ham steak is only better for breakfast until you've had Chicken Fried Steak and eggs for breakfast.

I have had CFS for breakfast many times. And if given a choice, I'd choose CFS again!

Not sure I would anoint it the best, but its really good. Any time I am in the area I go there. Who am I kidding. I drove there from Lake Conroe.

Hell Yeah! I would for sure give them at least in the top five in Texas for sure. I have eater there quite a few times in the past. It's just a great place to eat, regardless of what you order. But their CFS is truly awesome!

CFS is the bomb! Especially with white cream, peppered gravy and mashed potatoes!

CFS, especially with the fixin's, is the best. Mashed taters, green beans, and gravy. Yum.

Ham steak I bought last month is still in the freezer. 8 chicken fried steaks I made friday evening have been devoured long since.

But this is still part of the South. You take the dead critter, slop it in flour and deep fry it. That's whats for dinner. Even bacon deep fried is good.

I can go with mashed potatoes or home fries with my CFS. I like corn on the cob, fried okra and fresh made yeast rolls to sop up the gravy! Along with a glass of iced sweet tea. IF, there is any room, some fresh peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream is pretty good for dessert.

Pork chops and ham steak are different. Had pigs slaughtered for years. The pork chops are a different cut of meat, I think are more tender and also smaller in size. The ham steak is bigger and may or may not be smoked/cured.

But given my drothers, I'drother have a CFS any day of the week.

When I lived in Houston, Salt Grass Steakhouse had a really good CFS dinner. I haven't eaten at one in years, so I can't comment on how good they are now.
