While the article never tells us how he sought a confrontation with police it does imply what makes a child porn user. Lets see if this applies to anyone here:

The article was less than 450 words, (not even a page of 8 1/2x11), mentioned guns, AK 47 twice, backpack at lest 2 twice and there were as many words devoted to guns, backpack, survival etc as to the rest. AK 47 was 21 words into the article...

The purpose of this is to link gun ownership +survival + camping etc + Child porn!.

I spot things like this1 Just ask any Vietnam veteran. Every news channel and paper in the US had a constant barrage of: "Vietnam veteran _____________ (fill in crime). How bad was it? Bad enough that President Reagan had an initiative called: Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program (VVLP) which funded 50 offices across the US to try and dispell the myth that every VV was a drugged out baby killer...

FBI: Survivalist child porn distributor wanted police confrontation


SAN ANTONIO — The FBI has arrested a man on suspicion of distributing child pornography, and while searching his Kerrville home agents found an AK-47, other guns, a backpack full of survival gear and a journal indicating he wanted to fight the government.

Samuel E. Baker intended “to take a few of those (expletives) with me,” according to one journal entry that was quoted in a federal affidavit.
Baker, who was taken into custody Wednesday, became a target after agents in Dallas working undercover in April downloaded more than 2,800 child-porn files from a peer-to peer network.The network was traced to a home in Kerrville where Baker lives with his mother, the affidavit said.

After examining his mother's computer, agents determined that the peer-to-peer program in question was not on it. They also saw five computers in Baker's bedroom and learned that they use a Linux operating system, not Windows. The FBI's investigation had narrowed down the search of the suspected child-porn user to a Linux system.
Through further investigation, agents found out that Baker works at a computer store in Kerrville and that he has a degree from ITT Technical Institute in network system administration.

Baker's main computer was password protected, and he would not reveal the password or cooperate, the affidavit said.
He acknowledged he had seen child porn, but when pressed further, he requested a lawyer, the affidavit said.

The affidavit said that, as agents examined his room, they found the AK-47, a 20-gauge shotgun, a Winchester rifle, a .22-caliber rifle, a 9mm pistol and a backpack “filled with gear consistent with immediate departure and survival.”

A journal found in the bedroom had a 2009 entry date with references to suicide, fighting the government, his survival gear and weapons.
Baker was scheduled for a bail hearing Friday, but it was rescheduled until next week.

It seems those firearms findings are secondary to a completely unrelated charge of pedophilia... not the other way around. Spin?? The firearms don't mean a damned thing... but the guy deserves prison time if he's a pedophile.

That would be the crime he committed, so we're in complete agreement that he deserves punishment for that crime.
