Just driv'n by when I spotted this opportunity to rave over my RIA BBR 3.10.

Eensy double stack (10+1), ported barrel 1911. 12+1 with modified Para mags, and I could modify my double stack 14 rounders from my full size double stack.

The modification is cutting the mag catch slot 'bout 1mm higher so the 14rders aren't get'n modified.

I'll drop in a pic when I get to the house - rolling with a government model today. Hilarious to me that it takes an extended mag in the government to match the baby rock capacity.

A RIA BBR 3.10 has become my everyday carry since I got it a couple of months ago. Now Colt, Sig, and others hang around in the safe. Mags available @ Advanced Tactical.com

I am liking it a lot more than I anticipated. It carries nearly as easily as my Sig 938 (I don't pocket carry) appendix or strong side OWB.

While I was waiting for it to make the week long journey 'cross town (USPS Houston to Houston in one short week), Advanced Tactical wouldn't show me mags. Greg Cote LLC had them and the 12 round Para mags. I did grab a trit front sight at Adv Tac though.

I really like the look of that “1911”. I foresee one in my future.

Half cocked is a basic safety feature on all 1911 pistols. That is why the law enforcement guys carry them at half cocked.

Every LEO I’ve seen carrying a 1911 is in condition one - cocked and locked. This topic tends to turn into a big argument but I truly doubt you can find an LEO that carried a 1911 any other way.

I've seen very few law enforcement officers carrying 1911s in the cities. Most that I have seen in the larger cities are carrying plastic guns (Glocks, Sigs, etc.). The LE I've seen carrying 1911s have generally been rural.
Edit to Add: I prefer carrying my 1911s cocked and locked.

The Rangers and sheriff's deputies I have seen carrying 1911's have carried cocked and locked.
