I thought this was a gun forum. I thought this was America.
You taking about that kid and his ex-friend that committed said crime? Lol
If I go to a hospital can I carry my gun concealed legally?

Depends on what kind of moral character you possess.
Some people see the law as something to try and work around, cheat, nit pick, abuse, etc. The judicial and correction system is full of those folks.
Other people see the law in the spirit of how it was written, to protect a otherwise law abiding CHL holder from suffering a life altering mistake by getting convicted of a weapons charge, others see it as a avenue of exploiting the law for their selfish purposes.
The lawmakers offered up a law that has a provision for a law abiding citizen to defend themselves from a serious gun charge if they innocently make a mistake and get caught in an area they are prohibited in carrying a weapon. The lawmakers also explicitly stated areas they do not want you carrying your concealed handgun. But since they realize that CHL holders are good citizens, they placed some provisions to try and keep them that way if they have a slip up. The possibility of a second chance if they truly did not know, or were properly warned, they were entering a prohibited area.
When you look in the mirror, what type of person looks back at you????
No. If your local hospital isn't posted you are allowed to carry, still.Ok, it's not difficult, but I am getting confused.
The Hospital I frequent does not show a 30.06 sign (unless it just recently changed).
Has some new law passed that I missed about hospital carry?

No, not really some just believe that if you walk around hospital enough and find some way in that does not have a proper sign, you are legal to carry. I have an issue with that, as I don't think that is the spirit of the law and you could face spending a lot of money justifying your position.
I don't visit the main hospital if I can help it.
Then one comes across something in the newspaper, lol.....
"Officials with the Tomball Police Department did not add a count for possession of a firearm in a hospital, which also is a crime in Texas."
New charge filed in hospital standoff - Houston Chronicle
I never feel confident enough that I won't have to get a lawyer to carry my gun in places with 30.06 posted anywhere they aren't talking about a center fire cartridge. Lawyers are expensive and I don't want to contribute my cash to any of them.I bet I can guess the reason they didn't add the 30.06 violation. This is the pic I took last time I went into Tomball Regional of their "30.06" sign. Whoops...
