I recall back in the spring of t his year that the Senate, in an aberration of the two parties agreeing on something, had passed a plan to make the time change permanent so folks don't need to change clocks twice a year. What happened to that legislation? Did it go anywhere?
I did a tour in Arizona back in the 70's. They do not do daylight savings, life went on normally. IF moving the clocks around lowers electrical demand then I say hell yes

In AZ we just moved start times around, usually more for the heat than anything. Still, local ordnance males it hard on landscaping or roofing or trades people who would love to start work at 4 Am in the middle of summer and be done by noon but have to wait till 7 or 8 in some places.

It's already over a hundred by then sometimes because there are days or, at times even a couple weeks at a time, where it doesn't drop under a hundred even at night.

120 degrees is life sucking heat. Still no need for nanny state clock setting when adults can think for themselves.

You guys are missing the point. Just get Whoopi to declare DST as racist because welfare people lose an extra hour’s sleep and Congress will expedite doing away with it.

Too many special interest groups involved now. Example: the National Golf Course Owners Association wants an extra hour of evening daylight and claims it increases their revenue by 10%. You have other groups lining pockets wanting it one way or the other for their specific benefit.
