I disagree with karlac....punji pits although ultimately designed to kill by infection, achieve the goal of draining battlefield resources. The soldier has to be extracted from the pit, treated and prepped for evacuation to an aid station, evacuated, and further treated in the rear. He may ultimately die anyway. That takes a lot of resources away from battle.

Wounded soldiers are very, very costly.

Punji Pits I'm not sure how it became a debate on them. I think they were used more as a psychological weapon used to scare the troops and south Vietnamese. Everything the Cong did in the south was to instill fear in the Americans and local people. Wiping out and mutilating village chiefs, and any Americans they found still alive.
Actually just the opposite of what the dems doing. We are going to give you 1000 bucks a month, free healthcare for all, no guns to worry about crime or mass shootings, taxing to death the rich and corporations, free child care, free everything we are going to wrap everyone in a warm fuzzy blanket and make your lives just peachy. Plus we are going to save the planet by making energy efficient houses, no cars using oil, no electric using fossil fuels it is going to be Utopia.
Hell I guess the idiots think the rich and corporations are actually going to stay here, they will take themselves and their corporations out of the country. Wow here come the horse and buggy, sailing ships to go to foreign countries. Hell in 12 years we will all be speaking Chinese or Russian and in a reeducation camp.

Sorry...I got mixed up in my reply and the way I stated my response. I was tring to make the point that injured soldiers require more resources than those killed outright.
