    Yes it is.

And yes, everyone’s situation is different. It’s entirely possible for someone’s weekly mileage to exceed what a 110 home charger can replenish, and to have to go pay for a faster charge. EV’s are beneficial for a very small segment of the population. If you’re in that segment, then great. But most people are not, and the reasons they don’t make sense are both obvious and reflected in the low sales numbers of EV’s.

    110 charger.

That’s someone who didn’t do their homework.

    That’s what a lot of people use…

Have you talked to people with EV’s and that’s what they tell you?

I’m just curious because it’s $400 for a tesla charger and I paid $300 cash to have it installed.

Couldn’t imagine somebody being so stupid to charge with a 110.

I’m amazed that solar panels aren’t incorporated into the roof of EVs. Seems it would be a win for at least a little bit of a free charge.

It’s different when buying an EV. I knew and had already researched what the cost would be to charge at my house vs spending time at a charger. I also new the price of the charger and install before I pushed buy on the app.

I ordered the charger and had it installed before my car arrived.

Yes. $700 for your 220 charger is a lot of gas I could buy.

Because the amount of energy required to charge EV’s is so high that they can’t fit enough solar panels on the car to make a difference. To fully charge the battery of a typical EV requires about as much energy as most people use at home each day.

The only good use of solar panels on the roof of a car I've ever seen was when they were used to power a small fan that circulated air inside the car to the outside. On hot days, that meant the inside of the car wouldn't be an oven; it would just be as hot as outside. There have been plenty of summers in my life where I know that would have been a wonderful feature.

And now I can't remember which make/model of car that was.

Like I say, I've seen plenty of summers. :)

Toyota Prius and Tesla (not sure which model) offered them as options, possibly others as well.
