Mebbe Elon should offer Donny T a corporate officer position. Not CEO - maybe CFO though, or COO, but I doubt DJT would bite. Or he could create one - Chief Turmoil Officer, Chief of Viral Posting or something. Nothing necessarily with real power, but still an officer position none the less. Make some libby heads go boom.

Musk is a small L libertarian - while his motivation to buy twitter might be beyond free speech, he has "**** you" money, and while it took a big chunk of his Tesla investment to buy Twitter, I think he's honest when he said he wants to return free speech to one of the major means of diseminating information in our society

Twitter and their ilk played a big part of suppressing the Hunter Biden scandal, and in propping up the child molesting dementia patient in the Oval Office today. They suppressed stories of voter fraud and conspired to silence voices not in lock step with the left. That alone is good reason for someone like Musk to buy it and make it freer.

How many other people besides Soros, Gates, Bezos, the Walton family, or a bunch of foriegn nationals could do it?

I’d consider Dan Bongino or Tucker Carlson for COO.

Musk is no conservative. If he is doing something, it is for money and power.

Y’all gotta realize the platform is a business; it has to turn a profit. Last year the company operated at a loss of $221M on $5B in revenue. 2020 was even worse.

If there’s one thing Musk is good at, it’s getting subsidies and government contracts for his companies so they can attempt to turn a profit.

Twitter’s going to have a hard time at that revenue model.

Has anybody posted that leaked video of Elon firing a top executive, live, on the air, during the recording of a Joe Rogan podcast? That was awkward and epic at the same time. :)

    Oof. That probably wasn’t smart.
Actually, the video is a parody, spliced together for grins. The quick-cut editing is nothing like the sort of video that comes from the Joe Rogan Experience.

I just thought it was funny...and awkward and epic. :)

    Have a look -

Section 230 reform eminent, and not in the way we'd want it to be.

Twitter and Facebook have intermittently hidden behind that statute for years to justify censoring conservative speech and allowing liberal extremism and hate speech. It's amazing how they've flip-flopped between being a publisher with a responsibility to censor "misinformation" and being no more than a host for others with no responsibility.

Yep, sites that editorialize should lose 230 protection. That's not what's going to happen now that Marsman-bad controls their precious platform, tho... They'll come up with a way to make sites lose 230 protection if they don't tow the establishment line.

Eventually the censorship will become so blatant even liberals can't deny it. Or maybe they'll notice when it starts hitting those Dems who aren't loyal enough.
