    OK, serious thread.

For my fellow OCers, what is your typical method of carry? I carry OWB slightly forward of my hip, with quite a bit of forward cant built in. My current rig is extremely comfortable but the extreme forward cant is not so conducive to the draw from this far forward on my hip. I think this holster is more designed to be worn behind the hip. I found a new(?) holster maker (MD Whitefield in Brackettville TX) and am keen to try one of his very low riding holsters with only 10deg of cant.

I spend a lot of time on the road and wearing the gun forward of my hip makes it very comfortable (and efficient to draw) while driving.

I drive with an empty holster & stick the weapon between the driver seat & center console covered with a cloth. Orientation in picture is for lefthander - it's not mirror image. :green:

His pictures look really good with good prices.
Wait time is not too bad either.

I am a leftie, and carry at 9:00, with probably a 15% cant.
Being a leftie is an advantage when driving, as the seatbelt does not interfere.

I've been thinking about something like that - just shoving an unused holster between the seat and console. Or I may try one of those magnet things.

Magnets are interesting, but add an extra oportunity for an ND inb the car.
Also, if in a hurry, or under duress, just another thing to slow you down versus the gun being on your hip.

I will probably get some for the house, though.

Too many late night taco runs or weekends with a 12 pk to carry anywhere between 3:00 and 9:00. Custom holster with about a 45 degree cant.

That's about how i carry my CZ. I usually carry open when traveling to my parents or the wife's parents, or on the weekends to Walmart.

I just got a matching left hand holster that I bolted to the center console after sanding on the thumb release to make it where it holds the gun but if you give it a good yank it comes out without pushing the button.

Remove from waist holster place in console holster cover it with a towel.

The 2 small holes can be filled with rubber plugs or such if I want to remove it and no one will notice.

One option would be maybe use the magnets under the dash and one of your countless other handguns.

Keeping your carry gun on your hip

Oops, when I made the comment about the bookmark, I had not seen your post with the pic. I thought Saltyag had quoted it from another thread or something lol. I didn't realize you had already posted haha

Desantis @ 3:00. Sometimes just like that with a cover shirt, jacket, vest, what ever the weather calls for. In the car, at Walmart, in the voting booth, on the motorcycle, what ever. Anything expected to be REALLY active like days on the motorcycle, or in big crowds sometimes I'll adapt a little with a Galco Fletch or deep cover with a Bianchi IWB.

We can't carry at the voting booth, but I forgot you're not from Texas. Nice to see someone else who carries a 10mm 1911.
