A while back I looked up the stats so I could use them in a debate. These are just the major methods of homicide. There were others but I didn't feel like listing them.

13,455 murders 2015

rifles =252

sharp instruments =1544

blunt instruments =437

beatings =624

Strangulation&Asphyxiation = 216

2015 sharp+blunt+beat+strang=2821 = 11X more than were killed with rifles

Deaths from firearms 12,979
Deaths from all opiates 33,000+
