Very often people put the engine back in and leave the @#$57!!!! damn bolt behind the oil cooler out. It is a pain to get to, especially in the improved offset doghouse cooler design.Four. All VW 4-cylinder engines, from the earliest air cooled through the water cooled gassers and TDIs in the early 2000's have 4 bolts holding the engine onto the transaxle.
