    From IWI, regarding Galil availability:

The 1[SUP]st[/SUP] to arrive will be the 7.62 Ace pistol and is slated to arrive sometime in Sept., with the rifle to show in Nov.
308's will begin in Jan 2016, with the rifle in March.

I really want to shoot one in 5.56. I'm thinking if I like it, I'll sell my AMD-65 and pick one up.

    Sig MCX in 7.62x39
Galil ACE in 7.62x39 or .308
    SCAR 17S in .308

    Hmmm

    Galil takes AK mags.
SCAR takes only FN mags, a disadvantage.
    Sig takes AR style mags.

    SCAR probably $800 more.

    All have folding stocks.
Galil and Sig can be had in pistol configuration.

    Decisions, decisions.

I'd like the 7.62X39, but have so many rifles already in that caliber.

As far as the .308 I've been wanting a Scar for a long time and hoping this will scratch that itch.
I've still held out on buying an AR in .308 because the round is so expensive I can't afford to have multiple semi autos in this caliber.
So I want to make sure I make the right choice. Having shot the Scar before I know I'd like to own one just don't know if I could justify the price.

The Ruger SR762 is a very good .308. They had some initial production problems, but got them solved. Have not read of any subsequent problems. Just get a S/N higher than about 008XXX. Runs about $1600. Accurate son of a gun. Recently at 100 yards with scope, first two rounds were in the same hole. And my marksmanship days are long past. Uses standard Pmags. Chrome lined barrel, chome plated BCG, etc. Does not have the folding stock, though.
