    You can do a pretty good fit test without any special equipment.

    If it is an American mask, put it on and put one hand over the "exhaust" valve and blow as hard as you can. This is known as "clearing" the mask. It's what you want to do if you ever need to wear it when you first put it on.

    Then put your hand over the hole in the filter and inhale. The mask should suck to your face and you should not be able to draw ANY air in. If you can pull in air, you got a leak. Either a bad seal or the mask doesn't fit right. Try the test while making different faces to be sure the seal won't break when your talking or moving.
